Polokwane City and Durban City will meet in the league in what will be their first ever meeting.

Polokwane City will be playing against a KZN side for the first time this season, while Durban City will be playing against a Limpopo side for the first time.

Last season, Polokwane City won two, drew two and lost two matches in six games against the KZN sides.

Against the KZN sides last season, Polokwane City collected 8 points from a possible 18.

Durban City will become the 6th different KZN side that Polokwane City will face since 2013-14, having previously faced Richards Bay, Royal AM, AmaZulu, Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United.

Last season, against the newly promoted side Magesi, Polokwane City won one and lost one game.

Polokwane City defeated Magesi 2-0 away and lost 1-0 at home.

Polokwane City have won five of their last 10 matches against newly promoted sides (D1 L4).

Along with their 2-0 away win over Magesi last season, they defeated Highlands Park 2-0 away and Black Leopards 3-1 at home in 2018-19.

As a newly promoted side in 2023-24, they faced fellow promoted side Cape Town Spurs and won 3-1 at home and 1-0 away.

Durban City coach Gavin Hunt has previously faced Polokwane City on 17 occasions in the league, his record reads: P17 W6 D8 L3.

Hunt is winless in his last three matches against Polokwane City in the league (D2 L1), since a 3-1 win with BidVest Wits in 2019-20 on the 5th September 2020.

Hunt will face Polokwane City with a third different side in the top-flight, having previously come up against them with BidVest Wits and SuperSport United.
