Dithejane shines in Galaxy victory over Chippa
Puso Dithejane was a standout performer for TS Galaxy in their latest Betway Premiership assignment this week, as the Rockets powered their way to a 4-1 win over Chippa United at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium on Tuesday night.
Despite conceding early on in the tie, TS Galaxy showed grit and tenacity to come from behind in a performance that was supplemented by Dithejane, who scored an impressive hat-trick against the Eastern Cape side.
The Rockets were first to the ball during the opening stages of the match, while Chippa United looked to soak up the early pressure by the travelling outfit.
However, it was the Chilli Boys who drew first blood through Khaya Mfecane, who continued his promising start to the season with a goal in the fifth minute.
Presented with the first notable scoring chance of the game, Mfecane was on hand with a right-footed shot from the centre of the 18-yard-area.
While Chippa claimed the advantage early on, TS Galaxy swiftly regained control of the match and created a number of goal scoring opportunities mid-way through the first half.
TS Galaxy levelled the scoring five minutes before the break as Puso Dithejane added his name to the scoresheet in stunning fashion.
After taking the direct route to the Chippa box, Dithejane collected the ball on the edge of the area and let off a curling shot from range that left Stanley Nwabali rooted to the spot.
Adnan Beganovic’s side were proactive after the restart, with the likes of Lentswe Motaung and Nhlanhla Mgaga testing the opposition goalkeeper from range.

TS Galaxy’s pressure paid off moments after the hour-mark with Mlungusi Mbunjana joining in on the fun.
After being awarded with a corner, Mbunjana found himself in the right position to guide home a right-footed effort from the middle of the area.
The Rockets continued to boss the possession count after the 75th minute mark, while Chippa battled to progress the ball up field.
Then, in what was a moment that winded the Chippa defence, Galaxy added their third goal in the 81st minute, as Dithejane scored his second of the night with a headed effort inside the danger zone.
Dithejane, who was a problem to the Chippa backline throughout the encounter scored Galaxy’s final and his third of the game in the 95th minute following a swift break at the end of the fixture.
