MOKOENA, SALENG WIN TOP HONOURS AT PSL AWARDS

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena, and Orlando Pirates forward MonnapuleSaleng, were the biggest winners at the 2022/23 PSL Awards on Sunday evening.

Mokoena was crowned PSL Footballer of the Season and DStv Premiership Midfielder of theSeason, while Saleng walked away with the DStv Premiership Players’ Player of the Season and MTN8 Last Man Standing awards.

The DStv Premiership Coach of the Season award went to Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena.

Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Cassius Mailula, scooped the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season award while Khuliso Mudau and Ronwen Williams won the DStv Premiership Defender and DStv Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season awards respectively.

Cape Town City youngster, Luphumlo Sifumba, grabbed the DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season award.

Olwethu Makhanya and Iqraam Rayners (both Stellenbosch FC) took home the Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player of the Tournament and Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament awards respectively.

Voting and Nomination Procedures:

• Footballer of the Season: All nominations and voting were done by the Premier Division

head coaches. Only one head coach per club was allowed to vote and coaches were not

allowed to nominate or vote for their own teammate.

• DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season: All nominations and voting were done

by Premier Division players. Each club was allowed a maximum of 30 votes and no player

was allowed to nominate or vote for their own teammate.

• DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season: All nominations and voting were done by

the Diski Challenge head coaches. Only one head coach per club was allowed to vote

and coaches were not allowed to nominate or vote for their own teammate.

• Match Officials: All nominations and voting were done by the SAFA National Referees

Committee Panel.

• All the other Categories: All nominations and voting were done by a judging panel

comprising of football journalists, analysts, and commentators. A f
