Polokwane City and Siwelele still winless in 2026
Polokwane City edged up to seventh place in the Betway Premiership after they played out to a 0-0 draw with Siwelele at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, February 14.
However, Rise And Shine are still searching for their first victory in the new year as are Lehlohonolo Seema's side, who remain 11th in standings after a fourth consecutive draw.
City had a chance to climb above TS Galaxy after a 2-2 against AmaZulu last time out took them level with the Rockets on 24 points. Siwelele were seeking their first win in five matches, having drawn three on the spin prior to their trip to Limpopo.
Lindokuhle Mathebula was by far the busier of the two goalkeepers and he had the first save to make when Chibuike Ohizu found space on the edge of the box before unleashing a powerful shot that had to be dealt with.
That was the closest either team came to opening the scoring in the first half and Siwelele were asking questions again two minutes after the restart with a long-range effort from Tebogo Potsane that tested Mathebula.
Thabelo Tshikweta then threatened for the hosts shortly afterwards as he made his way into the 18-yard area and dragged his shot just wide of the goal.
As the second half wore on, Mathebula came to the rescue for Phuti Mohafe's side once more with a fine save to deny Vincent Pule, who looked to sneak in a header from an angle.
Puleng Marema and Bohale Ngwato had opportunities to win it for their respective clubs in the closing stages, but neither of them managed to hit the target and the points were shared in the end.
