Sundowns shine as they top the standings

It was an action packed weekend in the DStv Premiership with 14 goals scored across six games as Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed their presence as the best team in the league.

The weekend's action opened on Friday night, 27 November when SuperSport United came from a goal behind to beat Maritzburg United. Bradley Grobler scored a brace for Supersport as they moved into fourth place on the league table while Maritzburg dropped to the last spot.

Saturday, 28 November produced three draws and one spectacular win for Sundowns.

A 90th minute goal from Mokete Mogaila saw TS Galaxy rescue a point as they drew 1-1 with Golden Arrows. Arrows and Galaxy are seventh and eighth on the log respectively.

Orlando Pirates were similarly lucky when a 91st minute goal from Tshegofatso Mabaso earned them a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Baroka. The result left the Buccaneers in third place, only one point above fifth placed Baroka.

Lehlohonolo Majoro was both hero and villain for AmaZulu after finding the back of the net and being sent off in their 1-1 stalemate with Cape Town City. The draw saw City climb into the top eight in sixth place while AmaZulu held tenth spot.

In the result of the weekend, Sundowns were at their best with an impressive 3-0 drubbing of Stellenbosch thanks to goals from Peter Shalulile, Kermit Erasmus and Themba Zwane. The result sees them at the summit of the league table with 13 points, two clear of Moroka Swallows while Stellenbosch are in 12th place.

The only match on Sunday, 29 November saw ten-man TTM hold Chippa United to a 1-1 draw with the former in ninth place and the latter in 11th place.
