Ten-man Highlands beat Celtic

Highlands Park scored late in a 1-0 Absa Premiership win over Bloemfontein Celtic at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Saturday afternoon.

Tendai Ndoro found the back of the net with four minutes of regulation time remaining to lead the Lions of the North up above Celtic and into eighth place on the log standings with one round of fixtures remaining.

Siwelele duly drop down to ninth place, a point behind Highlands.

Following a rather uneventful first half, Highlands thought they'd finally found the opener minutes after the break as Peter Shalulile nodded home, but the assistant's flag was raised for offside.

Highlands were reduced to 10-men in the 71st minute following a second bookable offence in six minutes by midfielder Mothobi Mvala who will not play again this season.

Despite the red card, Highlands were still able to find the match winner as Ndoro struck home in the 86th minute for a vital victory in their pursuit of a top eight finish.
