Golden Arrows target second Diski title

Lamontville Golden Arrows is hoping for a déjà vu moment when they travel to Tembisa this weekend for what is likely to be one of the most crucial stages of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.
Golden Arrows have been down this road before – two seasons ago in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge. The script looks familiar because they enter this phase still facing uncertainty with four other clubs in line for championship.
The 2015/16 champions had a chance of wrapping up the title two weeks ago when they travelled to Cape Town for a fixture against Ajax Cape Town. However, a last-minute equalizer by the home side and Bloemfontein Celtic’s 4-0 thrashing of Chippa United put their title celebrations on hold.
The Durban-based outfit have their destiny in their own hands. Victory against Orlando Pirates this weekend will see them bag a second international trip irrespective of what happens in other fixtures.
Fifth-placed Orlando Pirates is one of four teams along with Bloemfontein Celtic, Ajax Cape and Maritzburg United, still within a chance of winning the title.
Victory for Bloemfontein Celtic (25 points), Ajax Cape Town, Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates (all on 24 points), could see the title race go down to a last-day five-way battle. Golden Arrows’ four-point lead over Bloemfontein Celtic could be down to just one and two over Ajax, Maritzburg and Pirates with just one match to play before the season concludes.
Entry to the Makhulong Stadium is free, but fans must be in possession of a ticket. Tickets will be available for collection at the stadium’s ticket office from Thursday this week, after 13h00.
All four Tembisa festival matches will be live on SuperSport 4HD, SuperSport 10 and all community TV stations on DStv.
Live minute-by-minute updates from other matches and log positional changes will be available on the official MultiChoice Diski Challenge and PSL Twitter pages @Asidlali and @OfficialPSL.
