Seshego Festival: Day 1 Coaches Quotes

Bidvest Wits Coach: Glen Salmon
Very happy first half and total opposite with the second half, that’s something we always fight about with the guys to have consistency, consistency is everything in football but what important is the results and that’s what we came here for but I am not happy with the way we played in the second half.
The Second half was like a smash and grab played, wasn’t good. They upped their game and they were all over us and the field wasn’t good as well which played a part in our performance. Overall I am happy with the results but not the results.
Platinum Stars Coach: Keleabetswe Diale
Of course I’m emotional especially after how we lost and gave goals away. The challenge is scoring and lack of concentration from the players towards the 90th minute. We were starting to create chances for ourselves but in today’s game I can’t really say we did create chances but there were times where I believe we should have scored and extended our lead but then it didn’t happen.
We are not in a good place as a team to be honest, it affects the boys, because if you’re at the bottom of the log you will put yourself under unnecessary pressure but all I can say is that we are focusing on development but in this time around we can’t really say development. Development means they should also learn that results matters, if they want to be professional players they must know that winning games or playing to be out of the current position they must win the game.
Free state Star Coach: Themba Sithole
I think it was an even game, I expected a goalless draw because chances where not created from both side but one mistake from the goalkeeper we conceded. Had three players that they didn’t come to the party and I think I had one or two that are not playing well so you bound to have such mistakes and lose the game. But I am not disappointed I think it was a well-balanced game.
I don’t know what’s happening on log because I came today the gap was 7 points and we were looking to close the gap. Our main objective is to make sure we get some of the guys into the Premier Division in June and that is our primary objective from there will sit down have a full assessment of everybody and see which one we get for next season and take it from there.
Orlando Pirates Coach: Riyaad Jacobs
It was a difficult start I think we came to the halftime talk and it all go into players and were disciplined, in the first half we didn’t keep our position, didn’t keep the structure and had lots of mourning and complaints and we needed to play the game and now we came out with 3 points. We spoke during the halftime break that we need to keep position and structure. We were better second half a bit structurally focused, we were allowed to move the ball around and manufactured very good chances and we were fortunate enough to convert one and take 3 points.
We still have three games to plays but so far so good I mean we have one more win compared to what we had last season. We just want to finish on a positive note then that will be good for the club but so we have to face those the remaining games, it won’t be easy against Polokwane City ,Golden Arrows and Chippa United but we will try put up a best result.
