Ajax Cape Town ended a three game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Platinum Stars in a thrilling Absa Premiership clash at Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening.

Zama Rambuwane handed the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break, but goals from Tercious Malepe, Tashreeq Morris and Tendai Ndoro in the final 17 minutes spearheaded the Urban Warriors to all three points, and out of the relegation zone.

Following a rather cagey start in the Mother City, the hosts finally tested Dino Visser in the Dikwena goal with 25 minutes on the clock.

The visitors were happy to sit back and welcome pressure from a desperate Ajax Cape Town outfit, but following good determination by Malepe the hard-working midfielder managed to fire in a ball across the face of goal. Dino Visser, though, was well positioned to make an easy save from Fagrie Lakay's header attempt.

Stars registered their first shot in anger soon after as Vuyo Mere fired a powerful effort at goal, but Brandon Petersen was up to the task; tipping the ball over the crossbar.

The visitors duly opened the scoring in the 40th - against the run of play - as Rambuwane headed home Vuyo Mere's cross for his first on debut for the Phokeng-based outfit.Roger De Sa's troops with a narrow 1-0 lead at the break.

Ajax Cape Town initially struggled to break down a stubborn Dikwena defence, but finally found a way past Visser with 73 minutes on the clock.

Malepe on hand for an easy finish after the Stars goal-minder kept out Samuel Julies from point-blank range.

The equaliser breathed new life into the hosts who pushed forward in search of the winner, and following a sustained spell of pressure the Urban Warriors deservedly hit the front. Morris with an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net from the edge of the area with 82 minutes on the clock.

Ndoro made sure of the victory with a goal on debut. The Zimbabwe international with a superb finish in stoppage-time to send the fans into delirium and the Urban Warriors up to 13th on the log standings.
