Nyundu relates his Celtic mandate
The 2017/2018 PSL season is still at its infancy stages but Roggert Nyundu is already beaming with confidence citing the hard work that was put in during the pre-season by the technical team as the main reason for his sureness. He highlights significant points such as team spirit, the astuteness of Head Coach (Veselin Jelušic) and desire to win as the reasons of his positive belief.
The former Amazulu marks-man agrees that the team has grossly underperformed last season and the opportunity presented to him and the rest of the players to salvage the pride of Celtic which must be taken as a mandate to do better.
“Firstly I would like to thank the Bloemfontein Celtic family for welcoming me; secondly my teammates as we starting to form friendships. Together as a team, we are always sharing ideas, making jokes and working as a unit; that has inspired me to settle. We all have the responsibility to revive the spirit and vibe that Celtic is synonymous with. Winning games must be our priority. To be given a chance like this, to play for the most passionate supporters in the country, it shows the trust bestowed upon you; for me, it is a massive chance hence I am committing myself earnestly” says Roggert.
The Siwelele ship is being steered in the right direction by head coach Veselin Jelušic and that is according to a striker who wants to score as many goals as he can this season. “Coach Ves emphasises that we need to play with a lot of gusto, determination and proper organisation while eliminating unnecessary mistakes. His professional conduct and laudable credentials, ability to work with players both physically and psychologically will benefit us as individuals and ultimately the team.
Nyundu expressed his desire to return to Bafana-Bafana and believes in his ability to score goals, more so – as he is surrounded by a remarkable bunch of players like he has at Celtic. “I have introspected and I must agree, this is my last chance to play for the national team. Most of us here share this sentiment and that is what is going to drive us to work harder, play graciously while setting ourselves targets to achieve”.
