Celtic back to winning ways

Bloemfontein Celtic registered their first win of the 2016-17 Absa Premiership season, beating Platinum Stars 1-0 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday afternoon.

Following a run of four games without a win, which also includes a 4-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the Sparta Macufe Cup last weekend, Siwelele finally came good with Fiston Abdul Razak netting the only goal of the game.

Seeking a first win in four matches themselves, Dikwena kept pushing up until the final whistle, but Celtic - who had promoted Morena Ramoreboli to assistant coach in the lead up the clash - held on for all three points.

Burundi international, Razak, scored the only goal of the game in the 44th minute; the forward finding the back of the net at the ideal time, just before the interval.

Celtic were reduced to 10-men in the 89th minute as Lantshene Phalane saw red for retaliation, but it mattered little as Phunya Sele Sele successfully moved off the bottom of the log standings - up to 12th place.

Dikwena remain in ninth following another defeat on home soil, having lost to Baroka FC by the same scoreline earlier this season.
