Platinum Stars are still in the market for more players having signed striker Maboke Matlakala this week.

Matlakala arrives from Baroka FC, with Stars light on forward options following the departure of Ndumiso Mabena, Bongi Ntuli and Henrico Botes.

“We can confirm that Matlakala has signed with us and we are hopeful that he can add value,” Stars general manager Senzo Mazingiza said.

“We have been eying the young man. We have been looking for his signature. We had to speak to his club. We have agreed terms with them. He is now our player.

“Bongi Ntuli and Henrico Botes are no longer with us. So it’s key that we brought Matlakala to the club. Ntuli was on loan from Sundowns and talks of keeping him for long term did not materialise. We are moving ahead. We hope Matlakala will fill that gap,” said Mazingiza.

The club are currently in negotiations to sign more players, but Mazingiza says they cannot reveal identities at this stage.

“Very soon the club will be making announcements. Most of the players are still contracted to their clubs. We will follow the rules and tread carefully.

“We are really hunting players that will assist in ensuring that we have got a balanced side going forward.”
