Stars continue battle for survival

Free State Stars will look to continue their battle against relegation from the Absa Premiership when they host Mpumalanga Black Aces at Goble Park on Saturday, kick-off at 3pm.

Stars ended a four-game winless streak in the league with a 1-0 victory at home to University of Pretoria in their last outing.

The Free State side has claimed 16 points from their 13 home matches so far this season.

Their next three league opponents are Kaizer Chiefs (away), Orlando Pirates (home) and Moroka Swallows (away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 24 points from 26 matches.

Aces suffered a second successive defeat when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Polokwane City in their last outing.

The Mpumalanga side has claimed 17 points from their 14 away matches so far this season.

Their final league opponents are University of Pretoria (home).

AmaZayoni are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 28 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Aces have met in 28 league matches since 1986.

Ea Lla Koto have claimed 11 wins compared to six for AmaZayoni, while 11 matches have been drawn.

Aces have won three of their 14 home matches against Stars, suffering six defeats in the process.
