Wits target three points v SuperSport

SuperSport United will attempt to bring to an end Bidvest Wits’ winning run in the Absa Premiership when the teams meet at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, kick-off at 15h00.

SuperSport saw a two-game winning streak come to a halt when they were beaten 2-0 away by Ajax Cape Town in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed 21 points from 13 home matches so far this season.

Their next three league opponents are Golden Arrows, Mamelodi Sundowns (both away) and Polokwane City (home).

Matsatsantsa are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 26 matches.

Wits recorded a fourth successive league win when they defeated Moroka Swallows 2-1 at home in midweek.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 23 points from their 13 away matches so far this season.

Their next three league opponents are Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United (both home) and Orlando Pirates (away).

The Clever Boys are placed third on the Absa Premiership log with 50 points from 25 matches.

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Wits have met in 43 league matches since 1990.

Matsatsantsa have 14 wins compared to 12 for the Clever Boys, while 17 matches have been drawn.

SuperSport have won eight of their 21 home matches against Wits, suffering six defeats in the process.
