Chippa, Arrows desperate for points

Absa Premiership strugglers Chippa United and Golden Arrows will both be desperate for three points when they meet at Philippi Stadium on Wednesday, kick-off at 19h30.

Chippa suffered a fourth successive defeat in the league when they were beaten 2-0 away by Maritzburg United on Sunday.

Arrows suffered a second successive defeat when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Bidvest Wits on Saturday.

The Durban side has recorded just one win away from home in 10 matches this season, suffering five defeats in the process.

Abafana Bes’thende are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 23 points from 22 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Arrows have met on just one previous occasion in the league.

That match took place earlier this season, with the Durban side winning 2-0 at home thanks to a brace from Smith.
