One of SuperSport United’s latest acquisitions, Bradley Carnell, showed glimpses of the type of experience he will bring to the defending champions this coming season.

The former VFB Stuttgart player spoke about his delight in coming back home and playing in the Premier Soccer League again.

“I’m glad to be back home and playing in the PSL again,” said the former Wits FC player. "I'm still hungry and eager to play, and with my experience I want to show some youngsters the ropes as well."

“After playing in Europe for 12 years obviously a lot has changed and it will take some time for me to adapt to the conditions, especially the hard surfaces, but I’m hoping to be ready by the time the season starts.”

Carnell has been impressed by the standard of football being displayed at United’s training sessions and expects to see this style of football continue onto the Absa Premiership season.

“I have been really impressed with the set-up at the club. The coach has instilled the right attitude and you can see it in the way the team plays and hopefully we can continue playing like this when the season commences,” said the former Kaizer Chiefs left back. "There are very good players here and it's no secret why SuperSport is a three-time league winning club."

The Pretoria based side will tackle Bidvest Wits in their first league game of the season and the player is looking forward to the tie.

“It is going to be fun playing against one of my former teams in my first league game back,” the former Bafana Bafana defender said excitedly. “Obviously I have been gone long, so it is not going to affect me in anyway because a lot has changed at Wits too, but still, it should be special."
