Chiefs lead in Charity Cup

Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic are set to take part in the Telkom Charity Cup.

The annual event will be held at Soccer City on August 7. Clubs enter the competition via a public voting system and the four teams with the most votes get a chance to show off their players at the premier stadium of South Africa.

Chiefs have 12366 votes, Sundowns 11833, Pirates 9319 and Celtic 3366.

Fans have 15 more days to vote and while it may seem that these four clubs are gaurenteed a place in the Charity Cup, surprises have come in the form of Platinum Stars who competed in the one-day event last year.

Santos are bottom of the voting table with 24 votes, Golden Arrows are above them with26, Free State Stars have 33 and PSL newcomers Vasco Da Gama are on 43.
