Two-time Telkom Knockout Cup winners Kaizer Chiefs players walked away with two awards at the 2010 Telkom Knockout awards ceremony held at the Wanderers on Thursday.
Arthur Bartman won the award for Goalkeeper of the Tournament and Dominic Isaacs received the Defender of the Tournament gong, the defensive duo was instrumental in Chiefs success.
“I am shocked but very happy,” said Isaacs. “I really did not expect this and I must thank my parents for their support. They have always been there for me.”
“And my team-mates have been outstanding too, I don’t think this award could have been possible without them.”
Both pocketed R100 000 together with their glittering trophies.
The Midfielder of the Tournament went to Dipsy Selolwane who also pocketed R100 000. The Botswana midfielder guided Ajax Cape Town to the final where they lost to Chiefs.
The top goal scorer award was not given as no player scored five goals during the tournament as that is the criteria for this accolade.
The TKO Player of the Tournament will be announced at the PSL awards at the end of the season, the nominees for this award are Selolwane, Bartman and Mandla Masango.
