The 24 year old player told his club website that they want nothing but three points on Friday night when they take on the Team of Choice.
Myeni who confessed to having a poor match against rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday has vowed to double his efforts and help the team win the tie in Port Elizabeth.
“We have forgotten about the draw against Chiefs,” reveals Myeni. “It is back to business for us as we prepare for the match against Maritzburg. They are a tough side and I think we will need to be at our best to defeat them.
“We are desperate to win this match so that we can continue closing the gap at the top. The second round will be a sprint for all 16 teams in the Premier Soccer League, so we cannot afford to let these three points pass us.
“I personally have told myself that I have to do better in this match – I am not under any pressure but I feel I can contribute a lot better than I did last weekend in the derby,” he concluded.
Pirates and Maritzburg United lock horns at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, with Kick-off set for 20.00.
