The Limpopo side play their first game of the season when they make the journey across to Mpumalanga to play on-form Sivutsa Stars.
Formerly Bay United, Saturday’s game represents the start of what the club will be hoping is a successful journey into the professional football ranks.
Heric, who previously coached at Bay United, as well as Black Leopards, Maritzburg United and African Warriors, has been at the club for three months now.
The squad contains no big names, and only has a couple of experienced players in the ranks, including Million Mkhabela and Bernard Molekwa.
Heric admits that it’s not going to be an easy ride in the season ahead.
“We’re ready, we have been waiting to play for some time now. We can only see how the team is going to shape up once the match has started on Saturday, then we’ll see how everyone is.
“Its going to be a challenge, I know that. We are a very young side and perhaps we could do with a bit more experience.
“But I believe in the future of this team. I can teach them things, but the only way this side is going to get experience, to gain knowledge, is to go out there and play, that’s how they will get their education.
“So it’s important that we have patience, the players will need time to grow into the league,” he told PSL.co.za.
There are a full round of NFD fixtures this weekend, with the pick of the bunch possibly the Vasco da Gama versus Jomo Cosmos game down in Cape Town; a match that sees two former PSL clubs squaring up.
