Chippa United have announced that Roger Sikhakhane is back in charge of the Philippi-based team.
Following the departure of Manqoba Mngqithi, assistant coach Julius Dube was put in charge of the team. Dube earned the Chilli Boys their first point in the top flight when they drew 0-0 away to Black Leopards.
Sikhakhane, who guided the club to promotion last season, had asked to be released for medical reasons, but is now ready to resume his duties as head coach on a permanent basis.
Dube will again be the assistant coach, while there is a new member of the technical team on board now: the vastly experienced Farouk Abrahams joins as goalkeeper coach.
"We are happy to have Roger back and we welcome Farouk to our home. We want to help Roger be 100% in terms of his health but believe his recovery to this point will help us build the team work we require as a club.
“The experience of Farouk Abrahams is vital to a young technical team and his goalkeepers and he will play a crucial role in the development of our goalkeepers both senior and junior," said the chairman, Simon Mpengesi.
Chippa have brought back young Orlando Pirates player Cyril Mashego on loan for a season, Mashego having been deemed surplus to requirements by the previous coach.
The club is also on the brink of concluding a sale deal for Cole Alexander from Ajax, who had initially joined on loan.
Brett Carelse has joined on a two year contract along with a Nigerian defender who signed a three year deal.
