Ajax Cape Town’s CEO George Comitis has confirmed the latest player movements at Ikamva.

Midfielders Brent Carelse and Cole Alexander have joined newly promoted side Chippa United with Carelse’s deal being permanent while Cole joins on a loan deal.

“Brent has been released from his Ajax contract to facilitate his move to Chippa United on a two year deal and the competition for places in the Ajax midfield is tough at the moment and this loan move ensures that Cole gets ample game time”, confirmed Comitis.

Comitis also revealed the imminent departure of George Akpabio alongside Nathan Gertse on loan and the possible arrival of a Brazilian player.

“George Akpabio and Nathan Gertse are set to join Vasco da Gama. Akpabio’s loan deal opens up a foreigner spot in the squad and that enables the club to make a bid for Costaviana Wanderson”.

“The Brazilian player (Costaviana) is currently in Europe and we are expecting him to arrive in Cape Town next week”, he continued.

Okwousa

“Unfortunately we have been unable to secure the signature of James Okwousa. The board could not agree to terms of the contract however Ajax Cape Town has assisted to facilitate his move to Chippa United” revealed Comitis.

Rusike and Vilakazi

"Although we received two very good offers for Nhlanhla Vilakazi and Paul Rusike from different clubs, Ajax Cape Town have decided to retain these players as they will play an integral role in our future plans", he concluded.

Despite the concerns of all our fans regarding what is seen as the mass exodus of players, we are confident that the current squad will be competitive this season.
