The South African Under 20 Men’s National Team (Amajita) has just arrived in Brazzaville, Congo for their first round first leg African Youth Championships qualifiers.
The match will take place on Saturday, 29 July 2012 at the Alphonse Massamba Debat Stadium in Brazzaville.
Amajita arrived in the country earlier today (Thursday, 26 July 2012).
Kick-off is at 15h30 (14h30 South African time).
Amajita defeated Vodacom League side, Free State Champs by three goals to one (3-1) in a practice match on Monday, 23 July at the Kempton Park FC fields in Johannesburg where the National team has been conducting their training sessions.
South Africa’s head coach, Solly Luvhengo is pleased with the progress the team has made in the build up to the qualifiers.
“We have been working on trying to get the team to play as a unit as we have not been together since the tournament in May in Cape Town. Our opponents are a closed book, but we have prepared well for Saturday. The important thing is that the players are in good spirits, and I believe they have what it takes to do well,” said Luvhengo.
The second leg encounter will be played on Saturday 11 August 2012 in Bloemfontein.
The South Africans will return on Monday (30 July).
The 2013 edition of the U-20 African Youth Championship will be hosted by Algeria
